The Black Nylon option is made in a process called multi jet fusion. These parts are solid black and have an overall finish comparable to injection molded parts. These are strong enough to withstand anything you can throw at it.
Due to the manufacturing process these are only offered in black.

The 3D printed throw levers are made out of ABS on a top of the line 3D printer and are almost as strong as the nylon option.
